One of my family’s favorite places is in Osage, Iowa. Spring Park is located west of the city near the Cedar River, click here for google maps. It has such a unique feature in the artisen well and is a wonderful place to visit if you need to cool off on a hot summer day! Just try not to fall in like my oldest boy has done…twice!! The park also includes trails, picnicing areas, a beautiful view of the Cedar River, playground equipment that the kids will love, a canoe access point, and of course this amazing well. They have a very nice campground close, equistrian camping, and have a cabin rental available – information at the bottom of this page. Also the Cedar River Greenbelt Trail is close to this park, it’s a 4 mile trail along the river…more info here at the Mitchell Co. site. Osage has a lot to offer and is a gorgeous place to visit. I doubt anyone would be disappointed with the beauty of this area! More photos are in my Flickr account…IowaOffTheBeatenPath.
